The Living World Around Us

This theme will include the following topics and will run throughout the Summer term.

  • Mini-beasts and other creepy crawlies including the stories -The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Bad Tempered Ladybird and What the Ladybird Heard.
  • Sam Safari will be coming into school to visit. They will be bringing a selection of mini beasts, small reptiles and animals for the children to experience.
  • We will be learning about Farm animals, including a trip to Rand Farm. The children are about to learn about adults and their young and will experience feeding the animals.

Please bear in mind that these are general ideas and our topics are subject to change as we follow the interests of the children.

P.E. is on a Wednesday morning - please ensure your child has a P.E. kit in school from Monday and that they do not wear earrings on P.E. day.

Homework will be sent home on a Friday and needs to be returned by Wednesday so it can be marked. Please look on Dojo messaging for information about the tasks.

BERTIE BEAR!

On a Friday, one child will be chosen to take Bertie Bear home to stay with you for the weekend. Please help your child to write about Bertie's weekend visit in the book. You can take a photo or two and either stick them in the book or email them to us at m.jopling@briggprimary.co.uk

Perhaps you played together in the garden? Maybe you read a book together? You might have brushed your teeth together at bed time! We will share Bertie's adventures on a Friday afternoon before he goes visiting again! Please make sure you return Bertie on Monday.
